steering control unit mounted, skid plate finished
I had to shorten the steering column, I cut the sectioned the outer housing and took 1.75" out of the steering shaft.
  3/16 plate with 1/2 UHMW

I see the steel support bolted to the UHMW, but do the 4 bolts that go to the chassis go thru the UHMH and the support thats bolted to it? Just thinking it may get ripped off eventually if not?

The uhmw is attached to the 3/16 steel with twelve 3/8ths countersunk bolts. The the four 1/2" bolts that attach it to the chassis don't go through the uhmw. The uhmw is cut out so the bolt heads are below the surface of the uhmw.
